FOR WOMEN SEEKING SELF-SUFFICIENCY…..  

EMPLOYMENT AS A HOME CARE AIDEHCA provides full-time or part-time employment for women who are entering the work force for the first time or who are struggling with barriers to job retention. HCA provides steady work in a positive and nurturing environment that builds on the individual’s assets toward achieving self-determined goals. Wages are competitive and benefits include paid time off, health and dental insurance, short and long term disability and life insurance, a bus card or equivalent for transportation assistance, and a winter holiday bonus.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES HCA's Home Care Aides can choose to spend two hours of paid time each week working toward attaining their GED.  Staff who attend college receive a quarterly bonus and are eligible for scholarship funds if their studies are in the field of health.  Ongoing training in the field of home health care, personal life skills, and health and wellness are offered with pay at least monthly, and all aides complete training that makes them eligible to sit for the national certification exam. 

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM -  HCA provides easy access to supportive services for its staff through partnerships with other community resources.  A social worker is available on site for all newly employed staff during their period of transition into the work force, and for all staff as needed to address a complex array of issues.  A no interest loan program is available for emergency needs and personal and family counseling and financial counseling are also available at no cost.  The aides have the benefit of a close working relationship with the Program Director to support their professional development.

FOR LOW-INCOME ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS ….

HOME HEALTH CAREHCA’s clients receive assistance with personal hygiene and supportive services such as restorative care, light housekeeping, food purchase and preparation, running errands and non-skilled treatments. Home visits vary from one to four hours a day and occur once to several times a week, enabling the clients to remain living independently for as long as possible. All services that are not connected to a reimbursement program are provided without charge to the client or on a very low sliding scale.


 

CASE MANAGEMENT- HCA’s RN Case Manager provides a comprehensive health and environmental safety assessment for each client on admission and follow-up assessments at least quarterly. She offers assistance with accessing community resources to meet the complex and varied needs of each client, and frequently provides direct care and assistance with immediate unmet health needs. Client education on their disease process, medications and preventative health and wellness is also provided.

 

 

 

 

COMPANIONSHIPHCA’s staff address the isolation and loneliness of the elderly and disabled population through its commitment to building caring relationships. Often HCA’s staff become like family members and are the only visitors our clients see on a regular basis.
